The Hamidija Masjid, also known as the Rijeka Mosque, stands in the Rijeka quarter in the centre of Mrkonjić Grad, the town that grew up at the end of the sixteenth century around the endowment of the Kizlar Agha. Its name comes from Hamid Agha Husedžinović of Banja Luka, who restored it in 1908, the date recorded in a verse inscription in Ottoman Turkish above the entrance. The mosque is a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it can be visited together with the Kizlar Agha Masjid a few minutes' walk away.
