Ali Wald Zayid Mosque stands at the centre of the hilltop village of Mankath near Yarim, on the western slope of Jabal Dharwan. It is also described as the Imam al-Hadi Mosque, and its building is attributed by tradition to Imam al-Hadi Yahya ibn al-Husayn, who came to Yemen in 284 AH. The small mosque has a prayer hall with a flat timber roof on stone columns, an open courtyard, a minaret and ablution facilities, and looks over the old houses of the village.
