The Great Mosque of Ibb, also known as al-Khattabi, stands in the old hilltop town of Ibb and is traditionally associated with the caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab. It is the main historic mosque of the town. The prayer hall has rows of white arches and a decorated mihrab, with an arcaded facade facing the courtyard and a minaret above the stone houses of old Ibb.
