Masjid al-Awdah stands in the centre of the al-Awdah quarter in the north of Diriyah, about 8 km west of Riyadh, and is one of the oldest mosques of the governorate. It was built of mud on seven columns, with an underground prayer room. It was restored in the second phase of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques, which rebuilt it in the Najdi style with mud and natural materials and raised its capacity from 510 to about 990 worshippers. Prayers, including the Friday prayer, are held here.
