Masjid al-Zarqa stands in the old town of Tharmada in the Washm region and dates from the time of Imam Faisal ibn Turki, between 1259 and 1282 AH. It was rebuilt in 1375 AH and remained the heart of the old quarter. Built of mud and stone, it has a prayer hall, a courtyard, an underground room used for prayer in winter, a well and a square minaret. It was restored in the first phase of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques, launched in 2018.
