Masjid al-Qibli stands in old Manfuhah, south of central Riyadh, beside the old emirate palace where the princes and notables of the town prayed. It was built in 1100 AH, and King Abdulaziz had it rebuilt and enlarged in 1364 AH (1945). Built of mud and stone with a roof of athel wood and palm fronds, it has a rectangular prayer hall, a square minaret, an underground prayer room, and doors and windows painted with geometric patterns. It was restored in the second phase of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques, and prayers are still held in it.
