This mosque stands in the centre of the village of Al Akisah, about 6 km north-west of al-Namas near the road between Abha and al-Bahah. Built more than a hundred years ago, it was the only mosque of the area and served as its centre of learning, with lessons in the Qur'an and writing, and as the place where people met to settle their affairs. It is built of mud brick, clay and stone in the Sarat style, with a minaret about 12 metres tall. It was restored in the first phase of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques, launched in 2018, and the work was completed in 1442 AH.
