Shada Palace was built in 1929 on the orders of King Abdulaziz in the centre of Abha, of stone with plastered walls. It later became a museum of local heritage. Its rooms display household objects, crafts, manuscripts, coins and photographs of daily life in Abha and the Asir region. A visitor reported in December 2025 that it was under renovation.
