Sayyida Zaynab bint Khuzaymah, Mother of the Believers, was known even before Islam as Umm al-Masakin, the Mother of the Poor, for her care for the needy. She married Nabi Muhammad ﷺ around 4 AH and passed away only a few months later, during his lifetime. Her room was one of the chambers built for the wives of Nabi Muhammad ﷺ beside his mosque. These rooms were brought into the mosque in the expansion of 88 AH, and the site now lies within Masjid al-Nabawi.
