About Al-Rawdah al-Sharifah (Masjid al-Nabawi)

Al-Rawdah al-Sharifah is the area of Masjid al-Nabawi between the house of Nabi Muhammad ﷺ, where he is buried, and his minbar. Muslims have long honoured it as a garden of Paradise and sought to pray here. The Rawdah lies in the oldest part of the mosque and is marked by a green carpet, in contrast to the red carpets elsewhere. The present marble minbar was installed in 1590. Visits are by appointment through the Nusuk app, and men and women are given separate times.
