Sayyidah Maymunah bint al-Harith was the last woman Nabi Muhammad ﷺ married. Their marriage took place in 7 AH, after the Umrah of Fulfilment, at Sarif on the road north of Makkah. She was the sister of Umm al-Fadl, the wife of Sayyiduna al-Abbas, which made her the aunt of Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas, and she was also an aunt of Khalid ibn al-Walid. She lived in Madinah as one of the Mothers of the Believers and was known for her piety and for keeping family ties. Many years later, on a journey to Makkah, she fell ill and passed away at Sarif, and she was buried there, at the very place where her marriage had taken place. Her grave lies in a walled enclosure beside the road north of Makkah.
