This museum tells the story of the architecture of Masjid al-Haram and Masjid al-Nabawi through the centuries. It displays original pieces removed during restorations, such as old wooden columns and doors, parts of the old structure over the Zamzam well, early pieces of the Kiswah and models showing how the two mosques looked in different eras. It lies in the Umm al-Jud district on the western side of Makkah, close to the Kiswah factory, a short drive from the Haram. It is one of the best places to understand how the Holy Mosques grew from their early form into the vast buildings of today.
