Al-Bassam Heritage House is a traditional mud house built between 1955 and 1959 near Bab al-Khala, the western gate of old Unayzah, and restored in 2000. It has two floors and thirty rooms on a plot of about 3,500 square metres, with stone foundations, gypsum binding and wooden roofs. Its rooms show how a Najdi family lived, with a wing for the household and long guest rooms for receiving visitors, and displays explain each part of the house in Arabic and English. It is open daily, and entry has been free.
