Masjid al-Barqa' in al-Asyah, about 80 km from Buraydah, dates from before 1323 AH and is attributed to Fahd ibn Turki Al Fahid. It is one of the best-known heritage buildings of the governorate. It keeps its traditional Najdi mud architecture. It was restored in the first phase of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Project for the Development of Historical Mosques, launched in 2018.
