Pak Tea House on the Mall, near Anarkali, opened in 1940 as the India Tea House and took its present name in 1947. For decades it was the meeting place of Lahore's Urdu writers and poets, among them Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Nasir Kazmi and Intizar Husain. After closing for some years, it was restored and reopened in 2013. It still serves tea and simple snacks, and its walls are hung with photographs of the writers who met here.
