The Zamzama Gun is a large bronze cannon cast in Lahore in 1757 for Ahmad Shah Durrani. It was used at the Battle of Panipat in 1761 and passed through several hands, including the Bhangi chiefs of Lahore, after whom it is also called Bhangianwali Toap. It carries long Persian inscriptions and stands on a platform on the Mall in front of the Lahore Museum. It is known in English as Kim's Gun, as Rudyard Kipling opens his novel Kim with the boy sitting astride it.
