Lahore Safari Zoo, formerly the Lahore Wildlife Park, lies on the southern edge of the city off Raiwind Road. It was established in the early 1980s and has been redeveloped in recent years. Visitors are taken round its large enclosures by electric carts and safari vehicles, with lions, tigers, zebras, deer and birds, and the park also has an aquarium. Food may be brought in, but cooking and barbecues are not allowed.
