Chauburji, the four towers, is a Mughal gateway dated 1646, built as the entrance to a large garden associated with Jahanara Begum, the daughter of Shah Jahan. The garden has long disappeared and only the gateway survives. The gateway is decorated with blue, green and yellow glazed tile mosaic and inscriptions, with a tower at each corner; one of the towers fell in the nineteenth century and was later rebuilt. It stands in a small enclosure at a busy junction on Multan Road, south-west of the old city.
