Jami' Dhi al-Manaratayn, the Mosque of the Two Minarets, is one of the old mosques of the al-Basha quarter of Old Basra. It dates from the Ottoman period, and local accounts place its building at the beginning of the 18th century. The mosque takes its name from its twin minarets and is known for its old tilework. It is still used for daily prayers. It stands a few steps from the Basra Manuscripts and Heritage Centre and close to the Shanashil houses, so it fits easily into a walk around the old quarter.
