This maqam at al-Bu Mushayh, in the al-Dayr district north of Basra, honours Nabi Ibrahim al-Khalil, the Friend of God, whose maqams are found in many places across Iraq. It marks a place associated with him, and the people of the village come here to pray. Al-Bu Mushayh is a village on the road between al-Hartha and al-Dayr. The Maqam of Abbas ibn Ali is about 2 km away, and the shrine honoured as the grave of Nabi Sulayman at Qaryat Nasr is about 9 km to the west.
