This shrine in central Basra is the resting place of Sayyid Mirza Muhammad Taqi Jamal al-Din, one of the religious scholars of the city, from the Jamal al-Din family of Sayyids. Basrawis visit his grave to pay their respects and to pray. It stands near Algiers Street, about 300 m from the al-Musawi Grand Mosque and a short distance from the old quarter.
