يحظى مسجد النبي دانيال، الواقع في الشارع الذي يحمل الاسم نفسه، بالتبجيل في الموروث السكندري بوصفه مكان دفن سيدنا دانيال، النبي دانيال. ويقع قبره في السرداب…
The Nabi Daniyal Mosque on the street of the same name is honoured in Alexandrian tradition as the resting place of Sayyiduna Daniyal, the Prophet Daniel. His tomb lies in the crypt below the prayer hall, in the same chamber as the tomb of Sayyiduna Luqman al-Hakim. Historians also connect the shrine with Shaykh Muhammad Daniyal al-Mawsili, a Shafi'i teacher who came to Alexandria from Mosul and passed away in 810 AH (1407), and members of the family of Muhammad Ali, among them Sa'id Pasha, are buried in the mosque as well. Visitors go down a flight of steps to the crypt. The mosque stands in the cultural heart of the city, near Kom al-Dikka and the Attarin Mosque, and is a registered monument.
