The Taiz National Museum is housed in al-Urdi Palace, the former palace of Imam Ahmad Hamid al-Din, who ruled Yemen from Taiz in the mid-twentieth century. The museum displays the imam's belongings, heritage objects, old weapons and photographs. It has been under restoration in recent years.
