Al-Saleh Mosque is the largest mosque in Yemen, opened in 2008 in the south of Sana'a. It was built to combine traditional Yemeni architecture with a monumental scale. The mosque has six minarets about 100 metres high, a great central dome, a vast prayer hall with carved and painted ceilings, and courtyards that can hold tens of thousands of worshippers.
