Al-Faqih Mosque is held to be the first mosque built in Aynat, the town east of Tarim made famous by Sayyid Abu Bakr ibn Salim. It has been restored after floods, and the restoration is recorded in the Aga Khan architectural archive. The mosque has a tall mud-brick minaret and a whitewashed gateway, and looks out over the palm groves of Wadi Hadramawt with the cliffs of the valley behind.
