Al-Basha Mosque in the Old City of Sana'a is attributed to Muhammad Pasha, one of the Ottoman governors of Yemen in the early seventeenth century, who also endowed other buildings in the city. The mosque has a stone facade with white-framed arched windows, an open courtyard and a richly decorated prayer hall, and stands among the tower houses of the old city.
