The Great Mosque of Bayt al-Faqih is the oldest mosque in the town, standing in the al-Salifiyyin quarter at its centre. It has long been the heart of the town's religious life. The mosque has a traditional Tihama plan with a white prayer hall and decorated interior, and its minaret rises over the surrounding streets close to the town's market.
