This maqam at al-Taybah, near Zabid, honours Uways al-Qarni, the devoted follower of Nabi Muhammad ﷺ from Qaran in Yemen who never met him, and whom the Prophet ﷺ praised. Uways was killed fighting with Sayyiduna Ali at Siffin in 37 AH, and his grave is honoured in Raqqa and in Diyala in Iraq. The maqam has white domes, a mosque and an enclosure with an inscribed plaque, and is visited by people from the Tihama and beyond.
