Jami' al-Aydarusi is an old mosque of the Bab al-Shaykh area on the Rusafa side of Baghdad, cared for by the Sunni Endowment and known for the grave of Sayyid Abdullah Habib al-Aydarusi. His name links him to the Aydarus, a family of Husayni sayyids from Hadramawt whose scholars spread across Yemen, the Hijaz and India, and Habib is the title Hadrami sayyids are known by. Little has been published about his own life or dates. The mosque is still used for daily prayer and stands a short walk from the shrine of Shaykh Abdul Qadir al-Jilani, in the same old quarter as the mosques of Siraj al-Din and Sadr al-Din.
