Jabal Zayn al-Abidin is a mountain just north of Hama, rising high above the plain. At its summit stands a shrine attributed to Zayn al-Abidin Ali ibn Abdullah, a later descendant of Sayyiduna al-Husayn, after whom the mountain is named. It is not the grave of Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin, the son of Sayyiduna al-Husayn, who is buried in al-Baqi' in Madinah. The mountain offers wide views over Hama and the surrounding countryside.
