Khan al-Zayt, the Oil Khan, is one of the old caravanserais on Midhat Pasha Street, the Straight Street of Old Damascus. Like the other khans of the market district, it was built around a courtyard where merchants stored and traded their goods, and it takes its name from the oil trade. It is still a working market building, lying a few steps from Khan Jaqmaq and close to Khan Sulayman Pasha and the entrance to Souq al-Buzuriyya.
