Bab al-Jabiya is the western gate of Old Damascus, standing at the head of Straight Street and named after the road to al-Jabiya in the Golan, where the Muslim army camped at the time of the conquest. It was rebuilt by Nur al-Din Zangi and restored under the Mamluks. The gate opens onto the busy area around the Sinan Pasha and Darwish Pasha mosques and the Sibaiyya Mosque. The Maqam of Mu'adh ibn Jabal and the al-Sadat Mosque stand beside it.
