About Palace of Sa'id ibn al-As

Sa'id ibn al-As was a Companion of the younger generation who served as governor of Kufa under Uthman and of Madinah under Mu'awiyah. Like other notables of his time, he built an estate in Wadi al-Aqiq, the green valley west of Madinah where the early Muslims built palaces, wells and gardens. The remains of his palace lie in the al-Aqiq valley west of Madinah, among the other early Islamic estates of the valley.
