Bab al-Nabi, also called Bab al-Jana'iz, was a gate on the eastern side of Masjid al-Haram facing the Mas'a. Al-Azraqi records that it was the gate by which the Prophet ﷺ came and went from the house of Sayyida Khadijah in the lane of the perfumers. It was also called the gate of funerals because the dead were usually carried out through it to the cemetery of al-Mu'alla. It had two doors and thirteen steps down to the floor of the mosque. The gate was removed when Masjid al-Haram was enlarged in the twentieth century. Its site lies inside the present mosque, about 65 metres north-east of the Ka'bah.
