This mosque stands near Masjid al-Ghamamah in the area of the old Eid prayer ground of Madinah. It is named after Sayyiduna Ali ibn Abi Talib, the cousin and son-in-law of Nabi Muhammad ﷺ, and tradition holds that he prayed the Eid prayer here, following the practice of the Prophet ﷺ at this musalla. The building has been rebuilt several times and was restored in recent years, keeping a simple interior with an old-fashioned feel. It is generally open in the daytime for men, and it is visited together with the mosques of al-Ghamamah, Abu Bakr and Umar nearby.
