About Bab al-Lud (Dajjals Death)

Bab al-Lud is the gate of al-Ludd where the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said Nabi Isa (AS), son of Sayyidah Maryam, will kill al-Dajjal. Its Arabic name, باب اللد, means “the Gate of al-Ludd.” The marked location lies in al-Ludd, close to Ramla on Palestine’s central coastal plain. Al-Ludd was an established city before nearby Ramla was founded as the administrative centre of Filastin in the early eighth century. The death of al-Dajjal Islamic tradition places Bab al-Lud within the events preceding the Last Day. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that al-Dajjal, the false messiah whose trial will spread across the earth, will be pursued by Nabi Isa (AS) after his descent near Damascus. “Isa bin Maryam will kill the Dajjal at the gate of Ludd.” Jami‘ at-Tirmidhi 2244 A longer narration in Sahih Muslim describes Nabi Isa (AS) searching for al-Dajjal until he catches him at the gate of al-Ludd and kills him there. The place is therefore remembered through a specific prophecy of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, linking this Palestinian city to one of the defining events in the Islamic account of the end times.
