Pir Makki, Sayyid Abd al-Wahhab, is honoured in Lahore as one of its earliest saints. Local tradition holds that he came to the city before Ali al-Hujwiri, and many visitors stop at his shrine first on their way to Data Darbar. The shrine is in the lanes a short walk north of Data Darbar, near Akbari Mandi. The long grave lies under a green dome, and the shrine is open throughout the day and night.
