Tafilah Castle stands on the hill above the old town of Tafilah, in the highlands of southern Jordan. It is thought to have been built in the Crusader period and was rebuilt and used in later centuries. Its stone walls rise over the houses of the old town, and from the top there are views over the valleys running west towards the Dead Sea.
