Sela is a rocky plateau near the village of Sela', south of Tafilah, that served the Edomites as a fortified refuge. On the cliff near the top is a relief of the Babylonian king Nabonidus from the 6th century BC, along with cisterns and rooms cut into the rock. The top is reached by steps carved into the cliff and a steep climb, and the plateau looks out over the valleys of the Tafilah highlands.
