This mosque and shrine near Tafilah is honoured as a maqam of Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari, the Companion who took part in most of the Prophet's ﷺ expeditions and narrated a great deal of hadith. He passed away in Madinah, where he is buried, so this site honours his memory. It is on the Royal Committee's list. The shrine stands on the edge of the town of Tafilah, in the highlands of southern Jordan.
