This grave in the shrine of Salman al-Farisi at al-Mada'in is honoured as that of Abdullah ibn Jabir al-Ansari, son of the Companion Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari, who is remembered as the first to visit the grave of Imam al-Husayn on the day of Arba'in. Abdullah stood with Sayyiduna Ali ibn Abi Talib and was among those killed at the Battle of Nahrawan. His grave lies in the same domed sanctuary as the graves of Salman al-Farisi, Hudhayfa ibn al-Yaman and Tahir ibn Muhammad al-Baqir, in the town of al-Mada'in (Salman Pak), about 30 km south-east of central Baghdad.
