About Al-A'imma Bridge

The Imams' Bridge was built in 1957 to link Adhamiya and Kadhimiya across the Tigris, joining the mosque of Abu Hanifa with the shrine of Imam Musa al-Kazim and Imam Muhammad al-Jawad. It replaced an older pontoon bridge. Pilgrims and local people walk across it between the two districts, and it gives fine views of the river, especially at sunset.
