The Mustafa Kamel necropolis is a group of four rock-cut tombs of the late third and early second centuries BC. They were found by chance in 1933 and 1934, when the ground was being levelled for a football field. The best-preserved tombs have courtyards with Doric facades and painted decoration. The site lies in the Mustafa Kamel district near Stanley Bridge, and a visit takes half an hour or so.
