This shrine on Fouad Street is honoured as the grave of Sayyiduna Abdullah, son of Sayyiduna Ali Zayn al-Abidin and brother of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, a great-grandson of Sayyiduna Ali ibn Abi Talib. Shrines in his name are also honoured in Damascus and in Mosul. The small domed shrine stands beside that of Ya'qub ibn Abd al-Rahman, near the old governorate building in the city centre. It reopened in recent years after a long closure and is open to visitors each afternoon and evening.
