The War Childhood Museum opened in 2017. It grew out of a book of short memories collected from people who were children during the siege of Sarajevo, and it gathers objects donated by them with each owner's own account of what the object meant to them. The displays include toys, diaries, letters, drawings and clothing, each telling one child's story in a few lines. Later exhibitions have added the experiences of children from other conflicts. The museum is in the Logavina quarter above Baščaršija, and it is one of the most moving places to visit in the city.
