This zawiya in Taiz is associated with Ahmad ibn Alwan (d. 665 AH), the great scholar and Sufi of Yafrus, and has long served as a mosque and place of gathering in his tradition. It is an old traditional building in the city of Taiz. Ahmad ibn Alwan's grave and main mosque are at Yafrus, south-west of the city.
