The Queen Arwa Mosque in Jibla is the mosque of Queen Arwa bint Ahmad al-Sulayhi, who ruled Yemen for decades from Jibla and passed away in 532 AH. When she moved the capital here in the late eleventh century she turned the old palace into a congregational mosque, and her grave lies inside it. The mosque has a wide courtyard surrounded by arcades, two minarets and a richly carved mihrab, and is the main monument of Jibla, south of Ibb.
