Al-Nizari Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in the Old City of Sa'dah. Its date of foundation is unknown; the earliest date found in it, from an inscription recording an enlargement, is 780 AH. It was long a home for students as well as a place of prayer. The prayer hall has a flat roof with a dome over the area in front of the mihrab, which is unusual among the region's mosques, and fine carved plaster decoration. The mosque stands in the Samarh quarter near the market.
