Masjid al-Mughaysilah stands west of Masjid al-Nabawi, in the area of the valley of Buthan. Specialist maps of Madinah identify it with the mosque of Banu Dinar, one of the places where the early historians of the city record that Nabi Muhammad ﷺ prayed. A working mosque stands on the site today and is open for the daily prayers. It lies in the old al-Malahah area, a few minutes' drive west of Masjid al-Nabawi and Masjid al-Ghamamah.
