Abu Bakr al-Siddiq lived in this house in Makkah before the Hijrah. He built a small place of prayer in its courtyard where he prayed and recited the Qur'an, and on the night of the Hijrah Nabi Muhammad ﷺ and Abu Bakr set out together from the back of this house towards the Cave of Thawr. The site lies among the buildings south-west of Masjid al-Haram. Abu Bakr's later houses in Madinah have their own listings.
